Pointer Diagnostics
Mouse, Polling Rate (Hz) & Double-Click Test
Test Left, Right, and Middle clicks, scroll direction, trackpad swipes, and calculate your optical sensor's true hardware polling rate in real time.

๐ฏ What is Mouse Polling Rate?
Polling rate (measured in Hertz / Hz) indicates how many times per second your mouse reports its position back to your computer.
- 125 Hz: Standard office mouse (8ms latency).
- 500 Hz: Mid-tier gaming mouse (2ms latency).
- 1,000 Hz: Competitive esports standard (1ms latency).
- 4,000 Hz - 8,000 Hz: Ultra-fast modern gaming sensors (0.125ms latency).
โ ๏ธ The Double-Click Defect Explained
Mechanical micro-switches inside mice eventually wear out, causing electrical switch bounce (chatter). When this happens, a single physical finger click registers as two rapid clicks spaced less than 35 milliseconds apart.
Our double-click detector measures the exact millisecond interval between clicks and highlights any debounce anomalies.
